Antonio Adams is a self-taught artist and the co-founder of Visionaries and Voices who works and resides in Cincinnati (USA). Inspired by the art of Raymond Thunder-Sky and the music of Prince, his cartoon-like pieces are populated by his friends, celebrities and the artist himself. They are joined by an extensive cast of imaginary people. Often depicted as superheroes, Antonio’s figures form part of a semi-real utopia, a world created to transcend his intense feelings of isolation and disillusion.
Justin Aerni is an artist, film maker and musician working and residing in Portland, Oregon (USA). Using cartoon-like outlines, roughly hewn shapes and uneven washes of bright colour, Justin renders emotional realities. These are surreal, dark worlds constructed from raw, emotional response and are internalised spaces made external.
Artist Anne-Sophie Atek lives and works in Aix-en-Provence (France). Favouring ink and pen, she creates intricate works which explore the concept of the “selves within the self”. Anne-Sophie's Frankenstein-like subjects are formed through a synthesis of disparate body parts. Her work challenges the viewer and their ability to understand a whole form from a sum of its parts.
